The singer Bruno Mars was announced, on the night of this Thursday (2), as the main attraction of the closing night of The Town – festival made by the same organizers of Rock in Rio, which will take place in São Paulo between the 2nd and 10th. of September of this year.
The festival’s press office informed that the presentation by the owner of hits such as “Uptown Funk”, “When I Was Your Man” and “Just the Way You Are” will be the only one in Brazil.
Sales for The Town will open on March 14th at 7pm, and tickets cost BRL 770 (full ticket) and BRL 385 (half ticket) through from this website.
With historic performances such as Rock in Rio USA, in 2015, and the Lisbon edition of the festival, in 2018, the artist’s visit to Brazil was an old goal of Roberto Medina, president of Rock World – The Town’s “mother” company and Rock in Rio.

Bruno Mars band has a Brazilian guitarist
Who takes on the guitars in Bruno Mars’ live performances, both in his solo career and in Silk Sonic, is the Brazilian from Campo Grande (MS), Matthew Asato .

Asato met Bruno while touring Europe with British singer Jessie J’s band, at a festival in Europe in 2018.
“We were playing in the middle of the afternoon and Bruno was going to close for the night. They arrived earlier and had the opportunity to see us”, he says. Mateus remembers that he wanted to record the singer backstage to show his friends on Snapchat.
“At one point he approached me. I said: ‘Fuck, the guy saw that I filmed him.’ But he said he saw the show, congratulated me, said he had already heard about me from the boys in the band, who had seen my videos on Instagram. I was very surprised by it, ”he recalls.

A year after they met, the band The Hooligans, which usually accompanies Bruno Mars, was left without a guitarist. “Their guitarist ended up becoming a father and had to take a ‘break’. Then, through Bruno, they reached a consensus and called me to play”, said Mateus.
Since then, the bond has been consolidating. Last year, the Hooligans guitarist, who had already been absent for a while, ended up leaving the band for good.
“The boys said: ‘Man, come play with us and stay tuned for the calendar because a lot of things are going to happen”, added the Brazilian.
What happened in the meantime was the launch of the Silk Sonic project. The band that embraces all the references of American music from the 1970s released, in March 2021, the single “Leave The Door Open”, with a sepia-toned clip that accompanies the entire aesthetic conception of the band.
“They asked if I would come in and I said: ‘Brother, for yesterday’. So I organized my schedule to be here and it’s been really cool. It’s a very special project, I’m suspicious to say so, but it’s very pleasant to participate in something that you admire”’, he told CNN .
