Brussels reached an agreement with Ukraine for future Ukrainian farm exports

The European Union announced today that it has reached a “in principle agreement” with Ukraine on future exports of Ukrainian agricultural products, as said Commissioner Maros Shefkovic. This is a “fair and realistic” agreement, the Commissioner, who insisted on imposing “sensitive” products such as eggs, sugar and wheat. From 2022 until June 5, with the aim of supporting Kiev after the Russian invasion, the European Union excluded agricultural Ukrainian products from duties. This was done to offset the highest cost of exports to the EU, as Russia threatened traditional maritime transport routes.
