South Korean boy band BTS will play the first concerts for their local fans since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19with three concerts in the capital Seoul next month, the group’s agency said on Wednesday (16).
The concerts, part of the “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour, which was interrupted by the pandemic, will take place at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium on March 10, 12 and 13, and will also be broadcast live, according to Bit Hit Music.
“We would like to thank all the fans for patiently waiting for an in-person concert in Korea,” the company said on its online fan platform Weverse.
Since debuting in 2013, the band has been leading a global K-Pop craze with catchy, upbeat songs and dances, as well as lyrics and social campaigns aimed at young people.
The seven-member band made history in November, becoming the first Asian artists to win the top prize at the American Music Awards.
The group’s last concert for South Korean fans was in October 2019, a few months before the outbreak of the coronavirus.
