BTS’s Jimin is the first South Korean soloist to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100

On March 24, BTS member Park Jimin released his first solo album “FACE”. This Monday (03), the artist made history with the song “Like Crazy” reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the US weekly music chart.

Jimin became the first South Korean solo artist to top the list. In 2012, PSY reached second place with the hit “Oppa Gangnam Style”.

The seven members of BTS have already entered the HOT 100 list with individual compositions, as CNN has already reported. As a group, they have topped the Hot 100 six times. In 2020, with “Dynamite”, “Savage Love” with Jason Derulo and “Life Goes On”; in 2021, with “Butter”, “Permisson To Dance” and “My Universe”, feat with Coldplay.

Currently, the members of BTS are focusing on their solo careers and taking the opportunity to fulfill their mandatory military service, with plans to reunite again in 2025.

Since the announcement of the break from group activities in July 2022, members J-Hope, RM and now Jimin have released solo albums. Next up will be SUGA, who announced on Sunday (02) the release of “D-DAY” for April 21.
