The building in Florianópolis that was closed due to the risk of collapsing had regular documents, according to the Civil Defense this Wednesday (17).
Residents were removed from the site last Monday (15), after the structure of the building showed cracks.
The building, located in the center of the capital of Santa Catarina, has apartments costing between R$900,000 and R$4.5 million reais. The apartments have up to 4 bedrooms.
According to the Fire Department, after the evacuation carried out, an engineering team hired by the building's administration is now waiting to carry out the restoration of the building. Only after this work will there be a new assessment to study the structural integrity of the building.
The closure only happened in the building that presented the problem. Properties in the region remain open for use by residents.
