Bulgari, Mary Katrantzou first Creative Director of accessories

Mary Katrantzou was nominated creative director of the accessories and leather goods part of Bulgarians, including the exclusive collection of bags and clutches one-of-a-kind of High Jewellery. A new position within the prestigious jewelery brand, a role never before occupied by a designer in 140 years of history.

«Bvlgari's rich cultural heritage and dual Greco-Roman roots» said the Greek designer «they played a fundamental role in my education as a designer. I have always drawn inspiration from Bvlgari's aesthetic codes and syncretism, from his mastery in the use of colors and the intensity of his narrative. I am deeply honored to be the first Creative Director of Bvlgari Accessories. A new chapter that I would like to elevate daily life to an art form.”

Mary Katrantzou's choice comes after years of collaboration between the designer of Greek origins and the Maison, starting when in 2019, Katrantzou paraded in the splendid setting of the Temple of Poseidon in Athens, decorating her Spring/Summer creations with pieces from High Jewellery and the collection Heritage of Bulgari.

We then saw her dedicate herself to a special edition of the perfume bottle Bvlgari Omnia as well as the recent capsule collection Snakes, with selections of bags and textile accessories inspired by the metamorphoses of the snake, the iconic symbol of the brand. Moments that further consolidated his relationship with the company.
