Vaccine protesters attempted to invade its parliament Of Bulgaria and clashed with police during a large rally against pandemic restrictive measures in central Σοφιας.
According to Reuters, the spirits intensified about an hour after 3.000 people gathered outside parliament.
Their demand was to abolish the compulsory health certificate which, they claim, violates their rights and indirectly forces citizens to be vaccinated.
The crowd, many of whom arrived by bus in the city center, they broke the policeman circle around the parliament and reached the main gate of the building.
Many people, including police officers, were injured in the clashes minor episodes that preceded.
Holding Bulgarian flags and banners of the supranationalist party Renaissance, who organized the rally, the protesters shouted “Freedom” and “Mafia” and denounced all the measures that have been taken to deal with the pandemic, reports APE BPE.
“I do not approve of green certificates. I do not approve of children not being allowed to attend classes. “I do not see what the logic of these things is,” said the 39-year-old engineer Asparuh Mitov at Reuters.
Bulgarians must wear masks indoors and on public transport and show a health certificate (obtained by those who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative) to enter restaurants, cafes, shopping malls and gyms.
The health pass will not be abolished, according to Petkov
The Prime Minister Kirill Petkov, who took office last month and vowed to push for vaccination, told public television BTV he regretted not being able to meet with protesters but was ready to do so on Friday, when his quarantine expired.
