Bulgaria: Foreign Minister and Energy Minister resign

Foreign Minister Teodora Gencowska and Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov submitted their resignations to the prime minister, the two ministries announced on Monday.

Both Genczowska and Nikolov gave their resignation as the reason for the decision of the party There is Such a People (TISP), which proposed them to leave the coalition government.

The two outgoing ministers have stated that they will continue to carry out their duties as provided for in the Constitution until their replacements are elected.

Teodora Gencowska and Alexander Nikolov told reporters on Saturday that they were due to resign on Monday, in line with their party’s decision to leave the ruling coalition.

The other two TISP ministers have already demanded his resignation: Regional Development Minister Grozdan Karadzov on Wednesday and Sports Minister Radostin Vassilev on Friday.
