The former Prime Minister of Bulgaria and leader of the center-right GERB (Citizens for Bulgaria’s European Development) party was arrested today in a police operation linked to the investigation by the EU Prosecutor’s Office, according to the Bulgarian Interior Ministry.
Former Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, former parliamentary budget committee chairwoman Menta Stoyanova, and his adviser BorisovSevdalina Arnaudova, were also arrested.
«A large-scale operation is underway, in relation to 120 cases of the EU Prosecutor’s Office. in Bulgaria. Searches and seizures take place in many locations. “Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov, Menta Stoyanova and Sevdalina Arnaudova are currently being held,” the Bulgarian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
