Bulgaria suspends AstraZeneca vaccine

Suspension of vaccinations with the vaccine against COVID-19 of AstraZeneca / Oxford University announced today the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov.

“I am ordering the suspension of vaccinations with AstraZeneca “until the European Medicines Agency (EMA) dispels any doubts about its safety,” Borisov said in a statement, requesting a “written” statement from the European regulatory authority, as broadcast by AMPE.

Bulgaria follows Denmark, Norway and Iceland, which temporarily suspended the supply of this vaccine amid reports of blood clots in some people who had been vaccinated with it.

THE The European Medicines Agency has supported the use of the vaccine noting that its benefits outweigh the risks and that it may continue to be administered.

AstraZeneca also announced yesterday that it had found no evidence of an increased risk of pulmonary embolism or blood clots in the safety data in more than 10 million records, even when examining subgroups by age, sex, vaccine batch or the country of use.

Today Germany has announced that it will continue to administer the vaccine of AstraZeneca / University of Oxford and France that this vaccine has shown great efficacy.
