“Whatever the background, whatever the pretext for the war in Ukraine, nothing can justify the attack on the country’s national sovereignty, the losses, the destruction and the enormous suffering,” President Rumen Radev said today. during a press conference with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Johannes in Bucharest, where Radev is paying a working visit.
The head of the Bulgarian state stated that “the war in the immediate neighborhood of our borders is changing the security environment in our region. The security system in Europe, which took decades to build, is collapsing before our eyes.”
Radev said disruptions to supply systems, routes and lines of communication, especially in the Black Sea, the threat to energy security, the imposition of unprecedented sanctions on Russia, put our economies and social systems to the test.
“All these processes consolidate the unity and determination of the European Union and NATO for coordinated action across the spectrum of international relations,” said President Radev.
He has also scheduled to meet with Bulgarian officers from the South East Multinational Division Headquarters in Bucharest.
