The administration of the football club Botev Plovdiv stated that fans will be able to pay with bitcoins for goods in the fan shop and for services in the stands.

The oldest Bulgarian football team, with the participation of Bitcoin payment provider BTCPay Server, announced the integration of payments in the first cryptocurrency with the club’s financial system.

“We believe that Bitcoin payments will become as widespread as the Internet. This integration not only matches our vision, but also provides fans and all stakeholders with an unrivaled convenience,” announced FC Botev Plovdiv President Anton Zingarevich.

Initially, fans will be able to pay with BTC in the fan store and in the stands during matches of the Bulgarian top football league Parva. In the future, the club plans to expand the use of crypto assets for purchases in the online store and when paying for tickets to matches.

At the beginning of 2023, Manchester City football club announced that it had entered into an agreement with the OKX cryptocurrency exchange to launch the OKX Collective ecosystem, designed to organize interaction with fans.
