Bulletin released by the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul on Saturday night (4) reports 55 deaths as a result of the heavy rains that hit the state.
Another seven deaths are under investigation to determine whether they are related to the meteorological events.
According to the bulletin, 107 people were injured. 74 are missing.
At least 317 municipalities were affected, out of a total of 497 in the state. The number of homeless is 13,324. Homeless people total 69,242. The total number of people affected is 510,585.

Loss of R$275 million
Between April 29th and May 3rd, the storms that hit Rio Grande do Sul caused at least R$275.3 million in financial losses.
The data are from the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) and indicate that R$59.9 million of this loss concerns the public sector. The majority of this amount, around R$29.5 million, is related to damage to infrastructure works, such as bridges, roads and urban drainage systems.
