The decree stipulates that for people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and for those who have recovered, the current exit and contact restrictions and quarantine obligations will no longer apply from Sunday. In many areas, they will be on par with those who have had a negative diagnostic test, for example when shopping and visiting a hair salon. The obligation to wear a mask and keep a distance remains for everyone.
Tomorrow the Upper House, in which the 16 states are represented, will also deal with this decree. If he agrees, the new rules could take effect on Sunday. Several federal states, however, have already eased measures for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.
Greens co-chair Robert Habek welcomed the fact that individual restrictions will be lifted for those who have been vaccinated and have fully recovered. “This is right, because it is not the freedoms that should be justified, but the restrictions on freedoms,” Habeck told German radio (Deutschlandfunk / Dlf).
