German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said on Monday she hoped growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine could be resolved through diplomacy, but warned Moscow of a “high price” if it decided to attack the country, according to Reuters.
“Any further aggression will have a high price for Russia, economically, strategically, politically,” Burbok told a joint news conference with Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.
“Diplomacy is the only way,” he said.
It is recalled that talks on the deployment of tens of thousands of troops along Ukraine’s border from Russia between the US, European allies and Russia came to a standstill last week.
Ukraine and Germany are pushing for a resumption of quadripartite peace talks with Russia and France to end the conflict in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region, Kuleba said.
He added that it was important for Germany and France not to make decisions about Ukraine behind their backs.
