Robbers blew up ATMs at two bank branches and exchanged gunfire with police in Santa Branca, in the Paraíba Valley, in the interior of São Paulo, early this Saturday (1st).
The action took place around 4 am. The criminals destroyed a Banco do Brasil safe and three Santander bank ATMs. No one was injured in the exchange of fire, and the attackers fled. It is unknown if they managed to take the money.
The Military Police (PM) did not know how to inform the number of people involved in the episode. In a note, the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo (SSP) informed that the case is investigated by the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) of São José dos Campos.
The case was recorded as robbing a banking establishment and attempted murder at the Jacareí Sectional Police Station.
A CNN seeks contact with Banco do Brasil and Santander to comment on what happened.
