Burla: “Weekly issue” to be vaccinated for coronavirus and children

The CEO of Pfizer, Albert Burla predicts that it is a matter of “weeks” for children aged 12-16 to start receiving the coronavirus, if approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Speaking to the Israeli “Channel 12”, according to timesofisrael.com, it is possible that even primary school children will be vaccinated by the end of the year.

Pfizer recently launched clinical trials for more than 2,000 children, ages 12 to 15, and hopes to see results within a few months. In Israel, meanwhile, the Pfizer / BionTech vaccine has been given to 600 children between the ages of 12 and 16 who have serious illnesses, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and are at high risk for coronavirus disease.

The country’s Ministry of Health also expects to start vaccinations in children over 12 years of age from May to June if the results of clinical trials are positive.
