Bus and car accident leaves two dead and six injured in SP

One accident between a municipal bus and a car left two women dead and six others injured in Suzano, in Greater São Paulo. The collision occurred around 4:30 am on Sunday (18), at the intersection of Rui Barbosa Street and Antonio Marques Figueira Avenue, in the city center.

According to Suzano City Hall, the accident happened while the traffic light was yellow, but the dynamics of the crash was not explained.

The administration also reported that the two fatal victims were in the car and died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle and five more passengers of the bus were rescued and taken to the Suzano Hospital and Maternity (HMS). The service was provided by the Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).

According to the Municipal Health Secretariat, the survivors entered HMS between 5:13 am and 5:50 am. They undergo care and are evaluated by the unit’s medical team.

In a note, Suzano City Hall sympathized with the victims’ friends and family. “The municipal administration continues collaborating with the investigations and reinforces that every accident with loss of life must be treated with the utmost seriousness, respect and responsibility,” he said.

The technical team of the Municipal Secretariat of Transport and Urban Mobility was on site and accompanies the investigations.
