Three people were injured after a homemade explosive device was thrown at a bus on Avenida Brasil, one of the main roads in Rio de Janeiro, on Wednesday (27).
According to the Fire Department, the three victims were rescued and taken to the Albert Schweitzer Municipal Hospital, in the Realengo neighborhood, in the north of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
One of them, a 35-year-old woman, was discharged. A 61-year-old man and a 65-year-old man remain hospitalized and are stable, as confirmed by the Rio Municipal Health Department.
The Military Police informed the CNN who was called to the scene of the crime when she received a call after a group tried to set fire to a bus near the Joana D’Arc community. When the police arrived, the vehicle’s windows were already broken.
The case is being investigated by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro and was forwarded to the 39th DP, in the Pavuna neighborhood, in the north of the city.
