Bus with more than 40 passengers overturns in the interior of Minas Gerais

A bus with more than 40 passengers on board overturned this Sunday afternoon (19) in the municipality of Serro, in the interior of Minas Gerais. At least four people were seriously injured.

According to the Minas Gerais Fire Department (CBMMG), the accident took place on the MGC-259 highway, in a region known as Morro do Paiol.

Firefighters from the city of Diamantina were called at 4:30 pm on Sunday.

The CBMMG informed the CNN that, at the scene, firefighters found an overturned bus, without information on the origin and destination of travel, which had 42 passengers on board.

At least four people were seriously injured and were rescued by a municipal ambulance and SAMU.

However, the firefighters explained that, as it is an occurrence involving other organs and many victims, there is still no complete list of victims and their condition.

Firefighters escorted three male passengers, who were already off the bus when crews arrived at the scene.

They had injuries and suspected fractures on their bodies, and were taken to the Santa Tereza do Serro Charity House.
