Five municipal buses were kidnapped and used as barricades On the morning of Tuesday (25) at Rua Barão do Bom Retiro, in Engenho Novo, north of Rio de Janeiro. The vehicles were used to block the road, preventing the entry of the Military Police in the region.
The motivation of the criminals, according to the Military Police, is a retaliation against occupation at Morro São João, which has taken place since January and has as its main objective to prevent disputes between rival factions of Morro São João and the monkeys.
In the early hours of Tuesday (25), as reported by residents, there was intense confrontation, when criminals of the Morro São João, led by the Red Command (CV), tried to invade the Macacos Morro, led by the third Pure Command (TCP).
A resident who passed in the region recorded a video that recorded the blockade of the street. See below:
Rio Bus, a company that represents the bus companies in Rio de Janeiro, said that the kidnapped vehicles were:

- C47574 – 607 (Cascadura x Rio Comprido);

Also according to Rio Bus, this is the 27th collective kidnapped in Rio de Janeiro in 2025. The company appealed to public security authorities, noting the urgent need to take action to return the right to live in peace of the Rio population.
