On Tuesday (1st), Brazilian Gabriel Henrique, 27 years old, went viral on social networks after getting the “Golden Buzzer”, the greatest achievement of one of the programs with the highest audience in the United States, “America’s Got Talent”, from NBC. The reality show brings together singers, dancers, magicians and other artists in a competition worth US$ 1 million (about R$ 4.8 million).
Born in Contagem, in Minas Gerais, the singer caught the attention of the jury – formed by actress Sofia Vergara, comedian Howie Mandel, famous music producer Simon Cowell and model Heidi Klum – as soon as he took the stage with a translator.
Gabriel explained that he didn’t speak English very well and that he was on American soil for the first time in his life. “It’s my first time in America, and I’m fulfilling a dream. It’s a childhood dream to be here,” he said.
The miner was asked if he owned a pet, and moved the public and judges by revealing that he has a dog, but that he ran away shortly before the trip.
Finally, it was time to sing. With the song “Run To You”, by Whitney Houston, the Brazilian delighted the audience and the judges. The emotion was so great that Vergara pressed the “Golden Buzzer”, a “golden button” that is hardly pressed and that takes the participant straight to the semifinals.

Gabriel’s achievement went viral on social media. Sofia Vergara even extended her praise in the edition to Twitter.

On his Instagram, Gabriel thanked the actress for pressing the button and revealed that he was going through difficult times before trying his luck on the program.
“When I was invited to participate in the program, I was going through such a difficult and personal moment in my life, that I would never have imagined that God would take me there in the USA and honor me like this simply in the greatest freshman show in the world … Thank you SO MUCH Sofia , I cannot explain how I feel, there are many emotions, I only have gratitude”, he wrote.
