After having enlisted visionary minds of the caliber of Alexander Wang, Nicholas Kirkwood, Yoon Ahn, Bvlgari continues the creative narrative with the stylistic and imaginative figure of the fashion designer Mary Katrantzou. Nicknamed “the queen of prints”, Katrantzou gave the iconic snake a new life imbued with optimism and light by infusing it on three special models: the bag Snakes Metamorphosis, the Metamorphosis snakes with handle and the Snakes Metamorphosis minaudière as well as a selection of textiles.
Starting from the model of Serpenti bag in nappa leather with handle, the Greek designer has created a real Haute Couture masterpiece with a three-dimensional embroidery depicting the transformation of a snake coiled on itself into a riot of flying butterflies. At the heart of this extravagant motif, the snake head closure triumphs. An expression of extraordinary craftsmanship, the Serpenti Metamorphosis bag hides more than 40 hours of work by an expert craftsman, and is available in the colors White Agate, Crystal Rose and Emerald Green for the smallest size, and black for the larger one, all in limited quantities.
Recalling Bvlgari’s bold jeweler DNA, the bag Metamorphosis snakes with handle combines an ultra soft and smooth body in quilted nappa leather with a brand new metal handle – a bold and distinctive reinterpretation of an iconic design heritage of Snakes. A tangible expression of the concept of metamorphosis in every smallest detail, this versatile bag can be transformed into a lively shoulder strap, simply by removing the handle and attaching a sophisticated golden chain shoulder strap. A perfect marriage between jeweler inspiration and mastery in the art of leather goods, this iconic piece also boasts a closure reinterpreted by Mary Katrantzou: the snake head is in fact crowned with teardrop-cut gems instead of eyes, and shines on a leather body available in a range of stone-inspired colors, from Ivory Opal and Crystal Rose to Aegean Topaz, Carmine Jasper and black.
A jewel in its own right, the Snakes Metamorphosis minaudière focuses on the hypnotic beauty of the iconic snake head, enhancing the sensuality of its hexagonal scales and piercing teardrop eyes. Inspired by an iconic Serpenti watch from Bvlgari, this is the first time this design has been transformed into a minaudière. This object of desire is available in two different models: a smaller one in light gold or gold with a long chain or a shorter double chain – to be worn over the shoulder or around the waist – and a lively medium-sized model to carry by hand, available with white and black scales, multicolored or in the Crystal Rose nuance. All bags in the capsule collection are completed by an internal metal plate with the «Mary Katrantzou x Bvlgari» logo.
