The General Superintendence of the antitrust agency Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) recommended the approval, without restrictions, of the purchase of the insurance company SulAmérica by the health group Rede D’Or, according to an order published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (8). ).
Interested third parties or advisors to the agency’s court have 15 days for possible manifestations, the companies said in statements.
If not, the decision becomes final.
Itaú BBA analysts led by Vinicius Figueiredo wrote in a report that, although the decision “was widely expected by the market”, it came ahead of schedule.
The BBA team noted, however, that the deal still needs to be approved by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS), and the autarchy may eventually impose restrictions on the current share of Rede D’Or in Qualicorp.
The acquisition of SulAmérica, announced in February, received approval from the Superintendence of Private Insurance (Susep).
