Cagliari, Francesca Deidda’s body found

Even the last hope has dissolved. The remains of the body of Francesca Deidda, who disappeared last May 10, have been found: they were near the Roman bridgenear the old Sardinian Eastern State Road 125, in the San Priamo area, where his personal effects had been found a few days ago (as confirmed by the unrepeatable tests carried out by the specialists of the Ris of Cagliari), a dental bite, a bathrobe and the remains of a sweatshirt. Tomorrow the task will be given to the coroner Roberto Demontis, who will carry out the autopsy.

Francesca Deidda’s husband, Igor Sollai, a 43-year-old truck driver, is in prison in Utaaccused of murder and concealment of a corpse. But he continues to deny any responsibility. Even This morning he was questioned again, for four hours, by the prosecutor Marco Coccoreiterated his innocence, supporting the version according to which his wife had left voluntarily. “Our client responded to the accusations, reconstructing the story,” explained Sollai’s lawyers, Carlo Demurtas and Laura Pirarba, “providing information on what doesn’t add up, also looking at maps and photographs. Our client is tired, but he is lucid and has answered all the questions“. The questioning is expected to resume next week.

At the place of discovery the Carabinieri of the RIS of Cagliari have arrived and are carrying out the first surveys. The search resumed in the morning with the molecular dog unit, arrived from Bologna and specialized in the search for blood and corpses, and with the Carabinieri of the Iglesias Company. The remains will now be analyzed for official confirmation.
