Caixa releases FGTS calamity withdrawal for citizens of Petrópolis

Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) informed, this Thursday (17), that it will release the calamity loot from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) for residents of Petrópolis (RJ) affected by heavy rains in the region in recent days. .

The withdrawal, of up to R$ 6,220, can be requested through the FGTS application, in the option “Meus Saques”, on the cell phone, without the need to go to an agency.

According to CEF, part of the city’s residents can now apply for the Calamity Sack until May 2. For new affected areas, the withdrawal will be made available as the municipal Civil Defense identifies the addresses reached by delivering the Declaration of Affected Areas and the Disaster Information Form (FIDE) to CAIXA.

The bank also announced the sending of teams of architects, engineers and technicians from CAIXA to the region to provide the necessary support to the affected population.

“The Petrópolis City Hall Works Department will have the technical support of CAIXA to survey the damage and estimate costs for the recovery of works in progress or affected buildings, such as bridges, access roads, water supply, health centers and schools. , among others”, he informed.

Another measure is the pause, when requested, in financing for hospitals in Petrópolis. Along the same lines, the option of suspending housing financing contracts for up to 90 days in the affected regions will also be made available, upon request.

According to Caixa, the installments may be incorporated into the debit balance of defaulting customers in the affected regions, upon request. “CAIXA will also support customers in triggering housing insurance and procedures for paying compensation immediately.”

Caixa Seguridade beneficiaries with current policies who live in the affected region will have priority in the analysis and approval of the payment of indemnities, with a period of two business days for the payment of processes with a value of up to R$ 10 thousand.
