Caixin’s manufacturing PMI unexpectedly falls to 50.6 points in March

China’s Caixin Manufacturing PMI for March stood at 50.6 points compared to the 51.3 expected and 50.9 points in the previous month, which shows that the overall health of the country’s manufacturing sector continues to improve modestly.

On Wednesday, China’s official manufacturing PMI rose to 51.9 from 50.6 in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Comentarios del Dr. Wang Zhe, economista senior de Caixin Insight Group:

“China’s Caixin overall manufacturing PMI stood at 50.6 points in March, below 50.9 of the previous month“.

“The March reading was lowest since April 2020, despite marking the eleventh consecutive month of expansion. “

“That indicates that the post-epidemic recovery continues to falter.”
