California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom said Wednesday that the expansion of free health coverage to immigrants without papers in order to balance the state’s budget, thus abandoning his ambition to create a universal system. The 57 -year -old politician, who is generally expected to be among the US presidency contenders in 2028, made a dramatic shift, as Republican President Donald Trump’s government is increasing pressure on states with democratic rulers, such as California, especially for California. Mr Newsom said the state has no choice because it has a deficit of some $ 12 billion. He attributed the huge fiscal hole to President Trump’s policy.
