The main suspect of killing the Brazilian who praised a dog in the United States was arrested this Thursday (6) by Chicago police. The information is from the Oakland Police Department.
The suspect of having killed the Brazilian Matheus Gaidos was identified as Eric Loc Elvira.
Oakland police even asked for help from the community to also identify a woman who was passing on the sidewalk at the time of the murder, but, during the announcement of the arrest of Loc Elvira, the department declared that she was recognized and is no longer considered wanted.
On Wednesday (5), the CNN had access to a document from the Superior Court of Alameda County that formalized the accusation against Loc Elvira and asked for his arrest.
A CNN tried to contact the accused and his representatives, but did not get a response so far.

On June 21, Matheus Gaidos was killed after praising a dog in Oakland. Loc Elvira, the dog’s owner, would not have liked the praise and would have fired a firearm at the Brazilian, who was taken to the hospital, but ended up dying.
The investigation remains open and, despite confirmation that the autopsy was performed by the Alameda County Medical Examiner’s Office, there is still no further information.
