After 3,056 deaths, Cambodia announced that it had been released coronavirusas the last patient recovered, announced today the Ministry of Health.
Cambodia has not recorded a new case of SARS-CoV-2 for 31 consecutive days. Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus in January 2020, 136,262 infections have been confirmed.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 recorded in the country is 3,056, while 133,206 patients have recovered, according to the Ministry of Health.
Nearly 90% of those vaccinated
89.4% of its population Cambodiaie 14.3 out of 15 million citizens, have been fully vaccinated, while 58% (9.25 million) have received a first booster dose and 16% (2.58 million) a second booster dose, reports APE-MPE , citing Xinhua news agency.
Vulnerable groups of the population will be given a fifth dose – or the third booster – from the day after Thursday, June 9th. Phnom Penh relied on vaccines from China’s pharmaceutical industry (Sinovac, Sinopharm).
Thanks to the high level of immunization, all social and economic activities returned to normal, while the borders were opened for fully vaccinated travelers in November 2021.
