Cameras record shooting in SP college parking lot; watch

Security cameras in the parking lot of the Belas Artes college, in the south of São Paulo, recorded the exchange of gunfire that took place this morning, after an attempted robbery.

In the images, it is possible to see when a driver arrives with a car at the location. A short time later, two men on two motorcycles come down the parking ramp. One of them leaves the motorcycle and goes towards the driver.

Seconds after announcing the robbery, the driver, who was armed, reacts and shoots the robber, who flees. Watch the video:


Gunshots cause despair

A shooting in front of the Vila Mariana campus of the Belas Artes University, in the south of São Paulo, was witnessed on the morning of this Thursday (19).

According to the Military Police, officers were called to respond to an incident on Rua Doutor Álvaro Alvim after an attempted robbery at the entrance to the institution’s parking lot, committed by two suspects on a motorcycle.

The action caused a commotion at the entrance to the college. Look:

In an audio shared on social media, a student reported that the shots were initially mistaken for the sound of motorcycle exhaust.

However, after further shots, the students realized that they were gunshots.

“We started hearing several gunshots, everyone ran away, jumping over the turnstile. I had never seen anything like that,” the student said during the audio.

On social media, the institution reported that academic activities continue as normal. “All measures have been taken to reinforce security so that tranquility can be promptly restored,” the university highlighted.

The Military Police stated that there were no reports of victims and that, after the attempted robbery, the suspects fled. The incident is being reported to the 36th Police District in the capital.
