Cameron Winklevoss stepped down as director of Gemini Europe

According to Companies House documents, Cameron Winklevoss has stepped down as director of the UK-listed Gemini Europe cryptocurrency exchange.

A Gemini spokesperson said the changes include the inclusion of local leaders on the board of directors. The transfer of control should reflect the growth of Gemini’s business in the UK and Europe. At the same time, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (Cameron, Tyler Winklevoss) will continue to serve as president and CEO of Gemini.

In the latest round of funding, during which over $400 million was raised, the exchange was valued at more than $7 billion. In its address to investors, Gemini management announced the expansion of plans for the European expansion of the exchange. Recently, the platform launched services for the exchange and storage of cryptocurrencies in Ireland, and also opened an office in Dublin.

Recall that in July, Gemini launched the second wave of layoffs in the company. Earlier, the exchange had already fired 10% of employees, and another 68 people fell under the new wave – about 7% of employees.
