The government of Jair Bolsonaro has zeroed the Import Tax levied on watercraft (jet skis).
The decision is made by the Executive Management Committee of the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) and is published in the Official Gazette (DOU) this Wednesday (2).
The original rate levied on the product is 20%. The tax is removed by including the item in the List of Brazilian Exceptions to the Mercosur Common External Tariff (LETEC).
In the same act, the import tariff on balloons and airships, gliders, flying wings and other air vehicles not designed for motor propulsion was also zeroed.
The original tax rate on these items is also 20%.
In another resolution, Camex includes memory cards in the TEC Exception List of Computer and Telecommunications Goods (Lebit). In this case, however, the tariff was changed from 2% to 14.4%.
