The singer Camila Cabello 27, shared the reasons why she didn’t stick with her blonde hair. The pop singer adopted the look in early 2024, and while she initially loved the change, she was concerned about the potential long-term damage.
“I really loved being blonde at first. In the beginning. But that shit starts to feel like straw real quick, like a horse is about to take a bite of it, like it’s a salad. It starts to dry out,” said the artist in an interview with Nylon magazine, who is currently wearing her hair in a dark brown tone.
Camila wishes someone had advised her about the possible problems of bleaching her hair. “There is a maximum of three shades, so you can lighten up to three shades or darken up to three shades, and it works for your hair. More than that, you can’t sustain it for long. (…) It’s going to take a long time to rebuild my beautiful, beautiful hair.”
Camila has previously described the change as “medicine for anxiety”, after dying her hair blonde before releasing her latest album, “C,XOXO”, and later revealed her thought process behind the transformation.
The singer, who rose to fame as a member of Fifth Harmony, told Nylon magazine: “If something different is happening musically, it helps to sound like a different person. You want to feel like a new artist every time you release an album, even if you’ve been in the industry for a long time.”
