Camilla, wife of Britain’s Prince Charles, tests positive for Covid-19

Camilla, the wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for Covid-19 and is in self-isolation,” Clarence House said in a statement. “We will continue to follow the measures stipulated by the government.”

Charles tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time last week. Both Charles and Camilla took the shots of the virus vaccine.

Covid-19 cases in the UK have seen a significant increase in the last few weeks of 2021, and the first few of 2022, mainly due to the arrival of the new and more contagious Ômicron variant. In the last 24 hours, 41,270 new cases of the disease were confirmed, a significant drop compared to the most recent peak of the disease, in the first week of January, where about 200,000 cases were counted daily, according to data provided by the local government.
