Camisa Verde e Branco will crown, on Saturday (8), for the first time, a trans woman as queen of the school. Thalita Zampirolli, who will make her debut in São Paulo, takes over the role.
“Thalita Zampirolli is the face of Carnival, she is a necessary image that, in addition to beauty, brings with it a story of struggle and resistance. Showing that representation matters, yes!” said Cahê Rodrigues, a carnival worker who arrives at Camisa to develop a plot about Cazuza for 2025.
He was responsible for inviting Thalita on behalf of the samba school. The traditional group from the Barra Funda neighborhood, in the west zone of São Paulo, also has Gracyanne Barbosa and Sophia Ferro occupying the positions of queen and godmother of the Furiosa drums, respectively.
As queen of the school, Thalita will not parade in front of the rhythmists, as Gracyanne and Sophia do. She will come on the ground, in front of the school’s open-wing car, which will close the Carnival Friday parades in 2025.
The actress and businesswoman will take her position in front of the community of Camisa, a nine-time Carnival champion school, on Saturday. On that date, the São Paulo school will officially launch the 2025 plot, which will honor Cazuza.
In Carnival 2024, Camisa Verde e Branco paid tribute to football player Adriano Imperador in the parade that marked his return to the Special Group after 12 years in Acesso. The club came in 12th place with 269 points, one point behind champion Mocidade Alegre.
