Campaign for the 2nd round reorganizes Lula and Bolsonaro’s electoral strategies

With four weeks of campaign ahead, former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the current president and candidate for reelection, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), are already articulated in the search for votes for the second round of the presidential race, on October 30th. One of the doubts is what will be the fate of the votes of voters who did not choose either of the two in the first round of the dispute.

When reading the numbers from last Sunday’s count (2), Lula’s advantage in the first round vote is the main reason for optimism for the PT campaign. On Bolsonaro’s side, the good results obtained by the president’s allies – especially in the Southeast region – pave the way for the expectation of a possible turnaround in the second round.

In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an assessment of the movements and possible strategies of the candidates running in the second round of the presidential elections.

To draw an overview of the reactions to the results of the first round and the course of the campaign until the definition of the dispute for the Presidency, the researcher Renato Meirelles, president of Instituto Locomotiva, and the political analyst of CNN Yuri Pitta.
