Campos Neto says that BC projects will not be affected with a change in the country’s presidency

The president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, stated that the projects developed by the BC will not be affected by the change in the country’s presidency.

Campos Neto’s speech was at an event promoted by the Poder 360 portal, which discussed digital security and technological advances in the financial system.

“We have to think about the institution, and not about that project, that moment, that team. This project, by Pix, was a vision adopted by BC staff, and will continue regardless of the government, and whoever the president is, ”he said.

During the opening seminar, Campos Neto highlighted the advances made by the bank within the scope of the digital financial system, such as the creation of Pix. In addition, the bank is developing Real Digital, a digitized version of the country’s physical currency.

In the chaos of Pix, the president of the Central Bank promised to soon disclose new features of the tool, such as the installment option and the programming of financial transactions.

Security in the digital financial market

Campos Neto highlighted that the Brazilian financial system is agile and secure, and that private banks invest a significant volume of resources to improve the security of digital channels.

“There are several initiatives that were carried out, one that was important and has grown a lot is the security part in opening accounts”, said the president.

According to him, institutions are now making an effort to combat the creation of orange and rental accounts.

For the president, encouraging and expanding the digitalization of operations should even facilitate inspection actions. According to Campos Neto, the fact that the transactions are digital facilitates tracking and security in the financial system.
