The fantastic world of series already has a new darling in 2023: “The Last of Us”. The first episode of the HBO Max production premiered this Sunday (15) and has already won the hearts of the public. The series is inspired by and based on the video game franchise of the same name, which is exclusive to PlayStation and has won over 200 awards.
But after all, in the midst of all this hype, is it possible to watch the series without having played the franchise?
The game and TV series are set in a post-apocalyptic world, with hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutation of the cordyceps fungus.
Basically, the story shows the journey of Joel (played in the series by Pedro Pascal, from “Narcos”), a violent survivor who is hired to take Ellie (Bella Ramsey, from “Game Of Thrones”), a 14-year-old girl, of an oppressive military quarantine zone. However, what should be a simple job turns into a brutal journey across the USA.
According to tweeters, you can watch “The Last Of Us” without having played the franchise! “Quietly,” said one netizen. “It’s even better, Last of US you can’t even call Last of Us a game. It’s a movie that runs on the PlayStation,” wrote another fan.

before watching the first episode of the last of us i was watching the gameplay, and it is so faithful that i was even scared of how well it was adapted. Anyone who complains about the adaptation is pure mimimi, because everything is amazing!
