We announced it here Haider Ackermann, first creative director of Canada Goose, role entrusted to him last spring, he would soon prove his innate ability to blend innovation and tradition.
The number one clue comes from the name of the first collection he signed for the brand, coming out today November 26th, i.e. Snow Goose, none other than one of the brand’s first labels, and then by the aesthetics of the garments that compose it, the result of careful archive research.
Ackermann has in fact dived headlong into the brand’s almost seventy years of life to preserve its craftsmanship and functionality, in order to combine them with more contemporary silhouettes and a bold and lively color palette. Any examples? The Rider Parkaan evolution of the mid-nineties Peacekeeper Parka, or jacket Celestiaa new interpretation of the classic shirt jacket whose details recall some iconic Canada Goose garments.
The inspiration for the designer’s creative debut at Canada Goose was his deep connection with nature and everything that comes from it, that is sensations of tranquility and escape that only vast, extreme and wonderful landscapes can offer. «Being surrounded by nature allows you to be connected with yourself: it reflects, inspires, provokes. It is with this pace and energy that we designed this capsule,” said Haider.

Through the art form of portraiture, the campaign captures the human aspect inherent in clothing, but more importantly highlights the power of nature.
«I was lucky to have found nature, something I loved, when I was a child and because of this I have remained an environmental student all my life. It gave me a purpose, something that made me feel a natural connection to the values of Canada Goose and this collection,” he said Ethan Hawke.
