This is the second “object” shot down by a US fighter in about 24 hours. A flying “object” that was roughly “the size of a small car” was destroyed yesterday Friday because it posed a “threat to aviation security”, according to John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council of the US presidency.
The two operations came a week after the US Air Force shot down what the Pentagon described as a Chinese spy balloon, which reacted angrily, arguing that it was a weather balloon being used for “scientific research” and had simply veered off course and entered US airspace “unintentionally”.
