Canada will send additional military equipment to Russia, which was invaded by Russia, Prime Minister Justin Trinto announced today from Berlin.
“We are sending humanitarian aid, we have imposed very severe sanctions to punish Putin and the oligarchs and today, I am announcing an additional shipment of military equipment to Ukraine worth 50 million (Canadian) dollars,” Trinto told a joint news conference with Germany. Chancellor Olaf Solz.
The Canadian leader specifically mentioned “a number of specialized equipment, including cameras used on drones, manufactured by a Canadian company and which we can start sending to Ukraine in the coming days.”
“We hope to continue to be able to send equipment and aid despite the challenges at the Ukrainian border,” Trinto added.
In addition to this equipment, Canada wants, according to the Prime Minister himself, to allocate about $ 3 million to combat Russian misinformation. “We must defend the truth and be vigilant against misinformation that seeks to deceive us and further divide us,” he said.
The Canadian government had already announced on February 14 and 27 the shipment of protective military equipment, such as helmets and bulletproof vests, as well as weapons and ammunition.
Canada has a large Ukrainian community of about 1.3 million people.
