Content makers of the Canadian BroadbandTV Corporation will be able to receive wages in cryptocurrency. The company is already ready to pay authors in BTC, ETH and USDC.
This will save a lot of time and money when compared to bank transfers, the company says. BBTV does not yet know of a single case when such a large corporation would pay royalties in cryptocurrency.
“Our authors have long had an interest in Web 3 and we are very proud to go hand in hand with progress,” said BBTV CEO Shahrzad Rafati.
The company’s innovation, called Pay to Crypto, will use the Netcoins platform of developers from BIGG Digital Assets.
BBTV assures that this is only the first trial step. In the future, the company plans to continue working with crypto technologies and Web 3.
BroadbandTV Corporation also partners with major media corporations such as Sony Pictures, NBA and Viacom, as well as freelance freelancers. BIGG CEO Mark Beans hopes that his system of converting payments from dollars to cryptocurrencies will open up new opportunities for the entire industry.
This is not the first time a media corporation has shown interest in cryptocurrencies. In 2021, BBTV took part in the first round of funding for the Nifty NFT platform.
