About 100 participants armed with pillows faced in Toronto on Saturday (12), during the fourth annual edition of the city’s pillows war.
The fun battle at Nathan Phillips Square brought together friends and strangers who hit laughing and danced to relieve stress and relive memories of childhood.
“For an hour, we left all our differences aside,” said Urban Playground Toronto organizer Kfir Lavie. “We’re just having fun with several other strangers we don’t know.”
Lavie said the event lost strength during Covid’s pandemic, and the Urban Playground resumed him as a way to rebuild community sense.
Participants were encouraged to have fun, but also oriented not to use penalties to avoid dirt on site.
Emma Gibson said the event was a great way to meet new people.
“It’s just an amazing way to have fun and release the inner child a little,” he said.
