Candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Canada intends to make the country the world capital of blockchain

During the election campaign for the post of the new Prime Minister of Canada, the conservative candidate Pierre Poilivre said that he intends to make the country “the blockchain capital of the world.”

Pierre Poilievre promised “unlock” the potential of cryptocurrencies for Canadians if he is elected prime minister of the country. He stated that he intends to simplify and streamline the rules to make it easier for Canadians to use cryptocurrencies instead of traditional forms of money. Poilivre also insists on the importance of decentralizing the power of central banks.

“The Poialivre government would welcome this new decentralized bottom-up economy and allow people to control their money from bankers and politicians. This will expand the choice and reduce the cost of financial products, as well as create thousands of jobs for engineers, programmers and other entrepreneurs,” Poilivre said.

If elected as Prime Minister, Poilevre promises not only to maintain the legality of the use of cryptoassets in Canada, but also to work with the provinces “to agree on rules and definitions, and make it easier for blockchain companies to operate in Canadian jurisdictions without a web of conflicting rules.”

Recall that in February, in response to the actions of the protest group of truckers “Freedom Convoy”, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Justin Trudeau) applied the law “On Emergency Situations”. Canadian authorities blocked about $20 million in bank accounts raised to support the protesters.

In response, the participants of the movement announced the creation of their own Freedom Convoy token, which attracted attention and increased the interest of Canadian citizens in crypto assets.
