Cannes Film Festival, the most famous glamor moments ever

It would have been the 75th and instead in 2021 the edition of the Cannes Film Festival counts up to 74. Two years after the last event in 2019, the Promenade of the Croisette is finally ready to turn on the light turned off by the pandemic. We wonder at what level will the glamour sul red carpet: we have changed inexorably after what we have lived (and we are still living) and, perhaps, so too are glitter, the tulle, the vertiginous slits, the trains, the daring looks and the rebellions to dress code that have studded the cinematographic event over the years and made people shout at fashion victim of the globe, in one sense or another, “Oh la la”.

There would be countless beautiful outfits to remember in an absurd way, starting with those of the great divas in the 50s and 60s, by the practically perfect Grace Kelly (gossip corner: in 1954 against the backdrop of the Côte d’Azur the American actress met and fell in love with Prince Rainier of Monaco) to another royal of the big screen, Liz Taylor that gives sparks with tiaras and jewels from a thousand and one nights. And then the looks of the great supermodels of the 90s up to the dreamy and hyper designer ones of the celeb of the third millennium.

The same is true for i several questionable outfits orsaved over time on the climbed stairs which made people smile and scream in horror as the case may be. Between starlet of all kinds, even the big ones have sometimes slipped on banana peels. But even in this case it would be really long to list the black list of style in Cannes.

And so we thought of remember these clothes, accessories and outfits behind which there is a story that made history: give her sneakers in combo with the Chanel dress that upset the Internet in 2016, a transgressive choice by Kristen Stewart che, then two years later, under the gaze of photographers, walked the Louboutin on the red carpet and continued barefoot, returning once again al long dress sugar blue by Catherine Walker sported by Lady D. in 1987. Why does that dress have a place of honor in the history of costume? Because at that exact moment there had once been a princess turned planetary star.

And what about Brigitte Bardot who in 1953, at the age of seventeen he set the entire Cote d’Azur on fire the first bikini to be shown at such an important public event? The next year Simone Silva goes far beyond giving photographers the first topless of the Festival. They will follow over the decades daring, indeed very daring looks: at the end of the 80s he arrives at the Cicciolina Festival which sends the mercury column into a tailspin. Above the skin only a few strips of fabric and a soft toy as a handbag.

But it will be then, almost ten years later, Jovovich mile causing jolts on the red carpet. Lin his John Galliano chain mail, is among the most famous ever in Cannes, and also brings with it a background: the dress came unstitched as soon as the model and actress set foot on red carpet and Demi Moore arrived to help her, repairing the damage with a sewing kit taken from her hotel.

Between the toemaggeddon unleashed by Julianne Moore’s sandals (maybe a little tight) in 2013 al fluo mankini by Sasha Baron Coehn in 2006 and the first women’s tuxedo spotted on Angelina Jolie in 2004 thus breaking the tradition of the classic evening dress for ladies in the Croisette, in the gallery we have collected 30 looks that have definitely left an imprint of style at the Cannes Film Festival.
