Gigantic official posters of the 78th Cannes Festival were revealed outside the Palais Des Festival early Sunday morning (May 11).
The posters are inspired by the romantic drama “A Man, a Woman”, directed by French filmmaker Claude Lelouch in 1966.
The film won the festival’s main prize, the Golden Palm, in 1966, and also won the awards for best foreign film and best original script in the 1967 Oscar.
The love story was starring Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant, French cinema icons and also Laureates at the Cannes Film Festival, both winning awards in 1980 and 1969, respectively.

The posters show the two stars in a hug, with a poster showing Aimée facing the camera and the other with Trintignant staring at it.
This is the first edition where the festival opts for a double poster.
