The city of São Paulo released the 4th dose, or second additional booster, of the Covid-19 vaccine starting this Tuesday (9) for the entire population over 18 years of age.
Those who took the first additional dose at least four months ago are eligible to receive the immunizer.
According to the note, 911,701 people can be vaccinated in this new stage of the campaign.
According to the municipal secretary of Health, Luiz Carlos Zamarco, “this is another important step in our fight against Covid-19. It is essential that everyone takes the booster doses to remain protected from severe forms of the disease”.
Immunization agents are available in all Basic Health Units (UBSs) and Outpatient Medical Assistance (AMAs)/Integrated UBSs, in addition to three Health Centers (CSs), 17 Specialized Care Services (SAEs) and megaposts.
Considering the eligible public in São Paulo, 83.7% of people received the third dose, and 53.5% took the second additional dose.
Vaccination in Brazil
So far, ten Brazilian capitals vaccinate the population over 18 years of age with the fourth dose: Teresina, Manaus, Fortaleza, Vitória. Aracaju, São Luís, Natal, Maceió, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Another six capitals vaccinate the 30-year-old population: Rio Branco, Florianópolis, Belém, Goiânia, Salvador, João Pessoa.
Brasília (Federal District) and Campo Grande vaccinate people aged 35 and over with the second additional dose.
Porto Velho, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Cuiabá, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Boa Vista, Macapá and Palmas immunize people aged 40 and over with the additional booster — following the recommendation of the Ministry of Health.
