Capitals cancel New Year’s party, debt negotiation at BC and more than November 30

The drop in the country’s unemployment rate and the cancellation of New Year’s festivities in at least eleven capitals are among the highlights of this Tuesday, November 30, 2021 afternoon.

Unemployment rate

The unemployment rate dropped to 12.6% in the July-September 2021 quarter, down 1.6% from the April-June quarter.

The data are from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), released today by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Despite the drop, unemployment still reaches 13.5 million Brazilians.

Canceled turns

At least eleven Brazilian capitals decided to cancel the New Year’s Eve party this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Campo Grande, Fortaleza, Macapá, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, São Luís, João Pessoa, Palmas, Curitiba, Teresina and Recife chose not to hold events to celebrate the turn.

Workers with a formal contract receive an advance on the first installment of their 13th salary until the end of this Tuesday (30th). The second installment needs to be deposited by December 20th.

The Debt Negotiation and Financial Guidance Mutirão, organized by the Central Bank, ends this Tuesday. The initiative is aimed at individuals who have debts with financial institutions.

Bolsonaro in PL

President Jair Bolsonaro signs his affiliation with the Liberal Party (PL). The event ends a two-year streak since he was left without a guild when he left the Social Liberal Party (PSL) in November 2019.

Considered one of the members of the centrão, PL will be Bolsonaro’s 9th party since the current president entered politics in the late 1980s.

Trends in networks

One of the subjects that move social networks today is the social activist from Ceará Janaína Dutra, who is being honored on the Google homepage for her birthday.

Janaína is the first transvestite lawyer in Brazil and is considered a reference in the human rights movement in the country.
