The bumbá oxen Capricious and Guaranteed released a joint note, this Wednesday morning (18), in which they refute the actions of the Government of Amazonas in the notice released this week for the sale of tickets for the 2025 Parintins Festival.
In addition to the note, the oxen sent an extrajudicial notification to the AM government requesting the immediate suspension of the notice dealing with the sale of tickets.
In the note, jointly signed by Rossy Amoedo, president of Boi Caprichoso, and Fred Goes, president of Boi Garantido the bois-bumbás say that “do not recognize the legitimacy of the publication of Bidding Exemption Notice No. 007/2024, carried out by the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy of Amazonas, which unilaterally determines the hiring of a company to manage ticket sales for the Parintins 202 Festival5.”
Extrajudicial notification
In the notification sent to the government of Amazonas, Caprichoso and Garantido claim that “the sale of tickets for the Parintins Festival is exclusive property and responsibility of Guaranteed and Caprichoso in accordance with private contracts signed in the exercise of their legal autonomy, supported by arena rights and intellectual property over their presentations.”
The bulls also say that the state administration “does not own the intellectual properties of the presentations, does not have any level of interference in its production or execution and much less does it have the means to guarantee its execution without the consent and participation of the bumbás .”

Understand the fight for ticket sales
Ticket sales for the Parintins Festival have been carried out for years by the Amazonian company Amazon Best, always with the consent and agreement of Caprichoso and Garantido, with whom the company has a signed contract.
Last week, the Public Ministry of Amazonas filed a Public Civil Action requesting the suspension of ticket sales for the 2025 edition of the Parintins Festival which has not yet started, “until fairer and more balanced conditions are ensured.”
This Tuesday (17), the government of Amazonas released a notice to select a new company to be responsible for the commercial part of tickets . The bulls claim that the decision was taken unilaterally by the state administration, without consultation and agreement from cultural associations.
One of the points highlighted by the MP is the “tied sale ” of tickets to the Festival. The current person responsible for sales only sells joint tickets for the three nights of the event. Until 2024, at least, it was not possible to purchase through official means for just one of the nights.
THE CNN requested a position from the Government of Amazonas on the case and is awaiting a response. Below, the full joint note released by Bois Caprichoso and Garantido.
Joint note – Caprichoso and Guaranteed
The Boi-Bumbá Garantido and Boi-Bumbá Caprichoso Associations publicly declare that they do not recognize the legitimacy of the publication of Bidding Exemption Notice No. 007/2024, carried out by the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy of Amazonas, which unilaterally determines the hiring a company to manage ticket sales for the 2025 Parintins Festival.
The decision, taken without consultation or consent from the associations that take part in the festival, represents a serious violation of the autonomy of the Associations Legally Responsible for carrying out the Bois Garantido and Caprichoso shows.
The sale of tickets is an exclusive responsibility of the associations, and is essential for financing the shows performed at the bumbódromo. This act disrespects decades of tradition and compromises the essence of Brazil’s largest folk festival.
The measure removes control over one of the main sources of resources for the production of the show from the associations, directly threatening the viability of the event and the dignity of the workers, artisans and artists who bring this show to life.
Furthermore, the imposed model directly harms the associations’ partnership with sponsors who have supported the festival for years.
We reaffirm that the Parintins Festival is more than an event: it is a cultural heritage of the Amazonian people, built by the collective effort of the Red and Blue Nations. We will not accept unilateral decisions that are out of touch with our realities, putting the grandeur and authenticity of the festival at risk.
The process must be immediately suspended and dialogue must prevail to ensure respect for the traditions, autonomy and culture of Bois Garantido and Caprichoso.
